The Central Government convened an emergency meeting to order the speedy investigation of the cause of a deadly crash that saw a jeep drive into a crowd of tourists and police officers and then burst into flames near the entrance of the Forbidden City by Tiananmen Square.

The death toll has since been increased to five and the number of injured has risen to 38. Three of the dead were in the car that crashed, while one was a female tourist from the Philippines and the other a male tourist from Guangdong Province. Three tourists from the Philippines and one Japanese tourist are among the injured.

"I heard an explosion and saw fire. The scene was very frightening," one witness at the scene was quoted as saying.

Roads leading to Tiananmen Square and Tiananmen East subway station were closed off shortly after the incident and photos of the scene were harmonized on Chinese social media sites. Photos taken from eye witnesses showed a car engulfed in flames and grey plumes of smoke rising from the scene of the crash. The photos also showed a heavy police presence and numerous onlookers. Journalists from AFP News Agency and BBC who were filming and taking photos at the scene were briefly detained, but police released them soon after.

Is not same to be something planed from before, not an attentat, or maybe it was, because in this kind of actions, they don't care to lose their life , most of terorists acting like this , making a scene even with their own lfe price....
