Apple Pay to Launch in China in Early February
Jan 25, 2016 By eChinacities.com

Apple announced last December that Apple Pay would arrive in the Chinese market. The service will be available to be used with China UnionPay. However, the U.S. based tech giant did not provide a specific time frame for the introduction of the payment service.

Netizens have reported that Minsheng Bank has been working to launch Apple Pay by early February. Customers will be able to attach their debit or credit card to their iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad. Apple Pay can be used on POS machines and online within the app store.

Apple Pay was first launched in the US in October 2014, and in the UK in July 2015. It launched in Australia and Canada this past November. Mainland China will be the fifth country or region to receive Apple Pay. Apple has announced that the service will launch in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Spain later this year.
