This year’s typhoon season is showing no mercy. As the latest typhoon of the year – Wutip – approached the coast of Guangdong on September 29, 171 fishermen’s lives were endangered when the five vessels they were travelling in were hit by the typhoon. Of those five boats, two sunk and 60 men went under. To date, 47 fishermen are still missing as are 28 people from another vessel, bringing the total number of missing fishermen to 75.
