A Tiantai, Zhejiang man was arrested last Friday for sending a funeral wreath to the wedding of his frenemy.

Police were summoned to a Tiantai hotel on February 19 when someone left a funeral wreath at the door of a wedding reception. By the time police arrived, the perpetrator had fled the scene.

Police soon figured out that the wreath had been left by a young man named Xu. Xu had prior convictions for theft and drug use. He had gotten into a fight with his friend, the bride on January 28 at a bar over a trivial matter, and had hit her, causing a slight injury to her forehead. Xu was forced to pay the bride 5,000 Yuan in compensation. Xu was not happy about having to pay compensation, and sent a funeral wreath to his friend’s wedding as an act of revenge.

Under pressure from police, Xu gave himself up and confessed on February 20. He was sentenced to 13 days administrative detention.

if I was the groom, I would have removed the "dead" stuff and replaced it with "When Two become One", or some other cheesy line. Double win...wife to be is moved by the gesture and comment, and its an awesome wedding decoration. Viola !
