Shanghai Residents Speculate Over Cause of Flying Feces

Shanghai Residents Speculate Over Cause of Flying Feces

Something just didn’t smell right at a neighborhood near Shanghai International Pudong Airport recently. Residents noticed that the “rain” had a strange color, consistency and smell, and quickly concluded that poop was falling from the sky.

According to one resident, a Mr Zhou, the main “disaster zone” is around Hangwan Road near the Luochaogang Community. Feces often drop on cars and washing left hanging out to dry. Some unfortunate residents have even personally been hit and don’t feel so hot as a result.

So what is causing these unfortunate residents to literally have a sh*tty day? Many residents are now suspecting that the poop is leaking out of airplane septic tanks since many airplanes fly directly over the community. It’s understood that during peak morning hours, at least one plane flies over the community every 5-10 minutes.

However, according to experts this theory is highly unlikely since the waste on planes is disinfected and mixed with a blue chemical liquid at high altitudes where temperatures are often as low as -50°C; any matter leaked from these septic tanks would therefore land on the ground as blue ice.

Oh the mystery.

Authorities have promised the fuming residents to investigate the incident but until then, they’re just going to have to get on with life at Shanghai’s most disgusting residential compound.
