On March 28, 34-year-old Ms Yang from Chongqing ordered a basic stainless steel tripod stand from a Shenzhen furniture factory online. Her express parcel arrived early the next day. She signed for the parcel and set it aside without opening it. As she was rather busy at the time, it wasn't until an hour or so later that she finally had the time to look at her new purchase.

Opening the parcel, she was shocked to see that the contents were not the tripod stand that she'd bought, but a small plastic bag filled with gold jewelry instead. She promptly reported the situation to the local police station, who after inspecting the contents, confirmed that it was all genuine gold—1,798.94 grams worth—and that it was valued at more than 600,000 RMB.    

Police inspected the delivery invoice inside the packaging and contacted the supplier of the jewelry. The supplier, located in Shenzhen, confirmed that the parcel had been shipped to the wrong person, and was actually intended to be shipped to a gold buyer named Mr Ye. Police contacted Mr Ye and met him and Ms Yang at the police station to exchange their parcels.

Mr Ye got his gold back, while Ms Yang netted herself around 600,000 karma points.
