Zhuhai airport is bordered by the sea on three sides, sitting on the very southwestern tip of Sanzao Island in the west of Zhuhai, around 35 kilometers from the city center.
Services from the airport do not fly internationally but frequent flights to Beijing (3 hrs), Shanghai (2 hrs), Xi'an (3.5 hrs), Changsha (1 hr), Haikou (1 hr), Xiamen (1 hr) and many other domestic destinations make it a good stopover point on international journeys, or an easy destination in itself.
Buses and shuttle buses to the airport leave the city centre regularly. A taxi to the airport should cost around 170 RMB, taking more than an hour. As a rule, only yellow taxis will take visitors to the airport.
