Zhongshan Street to be restored in July, new business center to be created

Hebei district will focus its energy on the comprehensive reparation and restoration of Zhongshan Street, Zhongshan North Street, Shengli Street. Focus will be placed on the completing the tearing down of old buildings, restoration of architecture, standardize air conditioning, renovate building exteriors, regulate business signs and advertisements, construction of street lamps, urban environmental renewal and similar tasks. After the changes, the Zhongshan Street area will transform into the city’s new business center. 12 major construction projects take are taking up 290,000 square meters. Regulations allow for a total of 980,000 square meters in building. The total investment value is 6.8 billion RMB. The plan calls for the completion of the Five Continents Clothing World by 2009, the building of the Zhongshan Riwei Street business project in 2010, and in 2011 the Zhongshan Culture and Commerce Square, Huisen Commerce Square, the Jinyuanli Building and the Coining Cultural Museum project.
