Zhang Ziyi Wins Rumor Case Against Foreign Media, Is Given Apology
Dec 18, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Accused of having illicit affairs with high-ranking officials and engaging in improper transactions with officials and business men alike by US media outlet Boxun at the end of May 2012, Chinese film star Zhang Ziyi has won a 700 million RMB settlement against the foreign company. After being published, this report was picked up by the “Apple Daily” of Hong Kong which then further disseminated the news.

Last June, lawyers for Zhang filed a multi-national lawsuit that charged the Boxun news website, its parent company the China Free Press and reporter Weican Watson Meng for all engaging in slander.

After 19 months, a conclusion has been reached in this case involving the multi-national film star: On December 14 in Los Angeles, the accused website issued a statement of apology. Earlier media reports have stated that the case was settled out of court, but Zhang has refuted this rumor.

"Foreign Media"...? The article clearly says US News. Make it sounds like China vs. The Outside world again... yeesh. Getting tired of that word.

it is so foreign that it is a Chinese news site based in the US. Sounds like it is just another US politically motivated news site but this time for Chinese.... america - Unable to actually report news, just like China..
