On April 8 Smartphone giant Xiaomi held their fourth annual Mifen Festival featuring special deals for a 24 hour period. Within the first 10 minutes more than 15 million people had visited the site, and after 20 minutes they had already made 100 million RMB. The 1 billion RMB they raked in from a single day is a record for the company, naturally.
In February this year the world’s top 10 best selling smart phones were announced and Xiaomi had one model, the RedMi, at 7 and another, the Mi3, at 10. The company is now ranked as China’s third largest e-commerce corporation, behind Alibaba and Jingdong.
