Xi'an Village Travel and Lotus Culture Festival has Kicked Off

The first Xi'an Village Travel and Lotus Culture Festival kicked off on July 24th. The event is jointly organized by the city Municipal Tourism Administration and the regional government of Lintong district. Events will run from July 24th to September 30th. Visitors will not only be able to enjoy countryside food and delicacies, they will also be able to participate in a photography and Chinese painting exhibit, look out over a hundred acres of lotus flowers, and watch cultural performances featuring countryside song and dance. Visitors can also watch on-the-spot craft and artwork making by artisans.

Lintong district has over 200 families of 'new' farmers – bringing an annual revenue of over 20 million RMB. Lintong district has been aiming to develop its agriculture and tourism industries and have opted to hold seasonal events featuring such activities as mountain climbing and sightseeing. The events have been well-received by visitors and local residents alike.
