Fifty buses powered by natural gas will start servicing residents in Xiamen beginning at the end of July this year. These buses can be easily spotted with their green body paint – a clear distinction from the yellow-painted buses powered by diesel fuel. These natural gas buses are able to run up to 300 km and more with a full tank of fuel – a distance the buses normally travel daily in transporting passengers. The buses can operate during the day and then line up to refill their fuel tanks during off hours to get replenished for service the next day.
