In anticipation of the opening of subway line 2 at the end of this year, Wuhan subway authorities have announced plans for designated women-only waiting areas, to protect against possible cases of sexual harassment. Both the cars and the waiting area will also have security camera systems, one monitored by subway authorities and the other by police. According to reports, the special waiting areas will stay women-only after 21:00 and before 7:00.
