Wuhan Man Chops Woman’s Hair Off on Public Bus Out of Boredom

The term “bad hair day” has dipped to a new low thanks to an incident that occurred on a bus in Wuhan recently.

On August 2, a female Weibo user posted a message claiming that a man had chopped her hair off while riding a public bus in Wuhan. According to the victim, she was sitting on the top floor of the 568 route on her way home. After a while, a man came up and sat at the row right behind her. Suddenly she felt a tug at her hair, which was tied back in a ponytail. At first, she thought the man had accidently pressed down on her ponytail but after a few seconds she again felt a tug and realized that something was off-mark. After turning around she saw the man quickly withdraw his hands. She then felt her ponytail and was horrified when a big chunk fell right off.

Obviously she was furious at this stage and shouted “What are you up to?” only to be met with laughter by the weirdo who cut off her hair. She then ran downstairs and asked the driver for help. The driver locked the doors and told her to call the police.

After 20 minutes the police arrived on the scene. It turns out the guy cut her hair out of boredom and to rub even more salt in the now short-haired victim’s wounds, there’s no law that states cutting other people’s hair off is illegal. All the police could do was tell him off. The man did agree to pay 200 RMB in compensation to the woman however.

The woman now has enough money to get a swanky, new hairstyle and the excitement of the whole incident must have cured the guy’s boredom: win, win!
