Wuhan Huaxia Bank Starts Offering "Telephone Wallet" Services
Mar 22, 2010 By eChinacities.com

This year Huaxia Bank has started a “telephone wallet” service that includes several payment options: charge for mobile phones, payment for violation tickets, car emission test charges, insurance charges and buying bus tickets for four major transport centers in the city. Agricultural Bank of China (Hubei branch) services include paying for utilities bills, bus tickets, movie tickets, and other business and entertainment related consumer charges. When using the service, for example if you're looking to buy bus tickets, then you can first make a call to the telecommunications service hotline 114 and ask them to transfer you over to the call center for long-distance bus transport center; after you've checked out bus routes and fares and have decided on the ticket you want, you can then confirm your order and specify your account number and pin number to make payment. After the transaction is completed, you will receive a text message to your mobile phone confirming that you've ordered and paid for your bus ticket successfully.

Right now, the “telephone wallet” service is only good for buying bus tickets for the next day and making charges toward mobile phone and landline accounts; reserving railway tickets are not yet available with this service. When purchasing bus tickets make sure to leave your correct mobile phone number, as it is one of the three details you need to provide (along with your name and the text message confirming purchase) when picking up your bus ticket the next day.
