World’s Highest Altitude Marathon to be Held in Lhasa September 10th

On September 10th, the 2011 Red Bull Lhasa International Half Marathon Challenge will be held. More than 1,000 runners have willingly registered to participate in the world's highest altitude marathon where they will have to brave great heights and freezing temperatures. The marathon route starts at the Potala Palace and covers 21.0975 km all at or above an altitude of 3,800 m.
