The world’s top-class tennis gala, the Rolex Masters, returns to Shanghai for the third year, and is being held October 8-16th at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Tennis Centre. The highest-level tournament in the ATP world tour and the only ATP Masters 1000 Tournament in Asia, this year’s Shanghai Masters has drawn in more than 100 competitors. The world’s top 20 players, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, are all playing. The ATP World Tour Masters 1000 is a series of nine tennis tournaments held in nine cities. Shanghai is the only city in Asia to hold an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament. As the second to last ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event, the Shanghai Rolex Masters plays an essential role in the players’ world rankings at the end of the year.
