The World Health Organization published a report yesterday, January 19, that shows that over 3 million Chinese people die prematurely each year from diseases such as heart disease, lung disease, strokes, cancer and diabetes.
The 2014 Non-Infectious Disease Status Report showed that millions of Chinese every year are dying from preventable deaths. The WHO has urged authorities to take measures to crackdown on alcohol, tobacco and increase education and awareness of the dangers of unhealthy eating and a lack of physical exercise.
The report comes as China has just implemented a new plan to improve medical services in rural areas and establish more traditional Chinese medicine as well as Western hospitals.
