Women’s Rights Activist Ye Haiyan Detained After Posting Naked Pictures on Weibo

Sex worder advocate and famous feminist Ye Haiyan was detained on Saturday by the police in Wuhan, Hebei province, after she published a nude photo of herself on her personal Sina Weibo account, Sohu news reports.

Ye Haiyan was born in Wuhan, the capital of Hebei province, in 1975, and was a primary school teacher, secretary, and wrote and managed a blog about Hakka culture. She posted a lot of prose and writing online, attracting many readers for the unique style and insight of her writing, and playful characters she introduced. Her writing has spurred on the creation of a famous feminist blogging network. It was in 2003 that she became a sex worker activist, and this is what she is most famous for nowadays.
