A man wearing a watermelon on his head has been spotted several times riding the subway in Beijing in recent days and gained minor celebrity in the process.

Several Weibo users have posted pictures of him on the subway, walking up and down, holding beer and baijiu bottles and generally looking creepy.

Several passengers reported ‘a feeling of danger’ when Watermelon Brother walked past and said that he seemed drunk and distinctly smelt of booze.

One user who apparently couldn’t handle Watermelon Brother’s creepy demeanor any longer posted a picture of him on Weibo and tagged the Beijing subway police.

He was soon intercepted and taken away for questioning.

These people are bothered by a man with a watermelon over his head, yet are oblivious to someone crapping on the street.
