Visa-Free Entry Law to Take Affect at Baiyun Airport on Jul 1

On June 28, Guangzhou’s Baiyun Airport will test out a new law which allows foreigners to enter China without a visa. The new law will officially come into effect on July 1.

The new law states that foreigners will be able to enter the country visa-free from Baiyun Airport under four circumstances:  

1. Foreigners who carry with them valid proof of their resident permits.
2. If foreigners are transferring at the airport and plan to head onto a third country via plane or boat, they will be allowed to stay in the country for up to 24 hours.
3. Foreigners who have been approved by the State Council to stay in a specific location for a certain amount of time.
4. Foreigners who have been approved by the State Council to enter the country visa-free for whatever reason.
