Unhappy Changzhou Man Jumps in River, Nobody Cares, Jumps Again

Unhappy Changzhou Man Jumps in River, Nobody Cares, Jumps Again
Jun 04, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Around 9:00 on May 28, police were called to a river near Changzhou’s East Railway Station to save a man who had reportedly taken a dive in. When they arrived, they were surprised to find out that the 22 year-old, surnamed Huang, had already jumped in earlier on in the day, though no one paid his first attempt any mind so he tried again.

Having recently graduated, Huang was back in his hometown applying for jobs. After a tiff with his parents, he stormed out of his home in rage and didn’t return for three days. After believing that his parents didn’t care about him, Huang felt the need to go to extreme measures to garner his parent’s attention. After the first jump, nobody saw him, so he decided to climb back up and try again. A passerby spotted him jumping the second time, and then called the police.

After informing his parents of the incident, his father wasn’t bothered at all and simply told the police that he wouldn’t pick his son up and that he should find his own way home instead. It was later revealed that the spat revolved around him spending his days playing games in internet cafes instead of applying for jobs, and his father had basically told him to grow up.

Ha Ha Ha! Typical spoiled, lazy, dependent product of China. I hope his parents realize that his actions are a direct result of being "babied" throughout his youth and in school. It's China's epidemic. The only difference between his daily routine now and when he is employed, is a paycheck. I'm sure that all those white-collar workers are so so so tired from playing on QQ everyday in the office. It's such a tough life!

So the guy, heeding his father's advice, made the mature decision to jump in the river so as to get some attention. Little did he know that the river is so polluted that he would never be able to drown. You can see from the picture that the guy is standing up on a pile of rubbish. The river is actually 11 metres deep here but the rubbish is 10 metres thick!
