On Mar.15th, David Miliband, British Foreign Secretary who was visiting Shanghai , inserted the last acrylic hair into the UK Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo Site, thus marking the opening of the “Dandelion”, as it has been named by Chinese people.
The UK pavilion with its 60,000 acrylic hair is also called “Seed Cathedral”. The pavilion consists of thousands of transparent rods equipped with semi-conducted lighting facilities, with each “hair” implanted with different seeds.
