At 8:00 on July 8, the seventh Pacific typhoon this year – “Soulik” – was spawned, and at around 17:00 the next day it became classified as a severe tropical storm.
Although it is not predicted that Soulik will directly hit China’s coastal areas, the tail-end of the storm will affect Shanghai, with heavy rain and strong winds as well as temperature drops expected over the weekend.
Due to the unpredictability of such storms however, it is hard to tell the exact extent of the effect the typhoon will have, though precaution is advised.
