Two Women Win 300,000-person Mahjong Competition in Chengdu

The 2012 Sichuan Mahjong Competition, hosted by the Chengdu Chess Association, recently concluded in spectacular fashion as two women, Jing Daiju of Qionglai and Wang Chao of Santai County, claimed the top two prizes of 200,000 RMB and 50,000 RMB respectively. Local authorities have called the event, which saw more than 300,000 competitors turn out, a great success for preserving part of the traditional Sichuan folk culture.
