Claire Denis: Retrospective is a tribute to the French Director Claire Denis, one of the most prominent contributors to modern French Cinema.

Her films are influenced by her childhood in colonial West Africa, and she often uses these places as backdrops for her stories. The movies often focus on the experience of being an outsider in a strange place and the struggles of the confines of masculinity, particularly in black males.

Several of her most famous works will be showing at the Poly Cinemas in Guangzhou, including White Material, Good work (Beau Travail) and The Intruder (L’Intrus).

For full details of the schedule and tickets see the Festival Croisements’ website.
