Tourism Booms in Xi'an during Spring Festival

In the 7-day long holiday for the Spring Festival, Xi'an has received a little over 1.9 million visitors, a 15.6% increase from last year, and the tourism industry for the city has reaped a revenue totaling 963 million RMB – up 21.07% from last year. During the long holiday, many traditional scenic spots in Xi'an has seen a double-digit growth in terms of number of tourists when compared with last year. And since Zhengzhou - Xi'an high-speed railway has started operations as of February 6th, cutting travel time from 7 hours to merely 2 hours, train travel has become a popular method of travelling for many tourists going between the cities. The city also hosted an array of temple fairs showcasing local customs in order to attract Spring Festival travellers this year.
