In an effort to keep a steady stream of odd museums opening throughout the country, China’s Jiangsu province has a new-comer: a torture museum. The museum proudly displays all of China’s torture methods, some of which look incredibly terrifying, and should never be on display this proudly.
The exhibition includes ‘interactive’ displays that have sound and light effects. Besides the usual torture methods there were also some more unusual ones, like devices to twist women’s breasts as a method of torture.
As to the purpose of the museum, nobody is sure. An odd mix of entertainment and reminding citizens to behave seems likely. Netizens quickly jumped to the conclusion that the exhibition was actually a very obvious hint and threat towards corrupt government officials, since the torture devices were displayed at an old-time government building.
If given the choice between this museum and the jail-themed restaurant in Tianjin we can’t say which one sounds like a less fun daytrip.

They should've asked the Americans for a contribution - the only developed country that considers torture as a tool of State.

What? Torture has been carried out in China by Chinese? Never? Surely? I thought it was only the Japanese that did terrible things to other people!!!
