A tiger cub was found dead in a car park in Shandong over Spring Festival. It was found lying in a pool of blood by local neighbours on February 19, who then called the police.

According to investigations, the seven-month-old tiger appears to have jumped from the 11th floor of the building because it afraid of the noise of the Spring Festival fireworks.

The cub had been staying on top of the building in a cage by one of the residents surnamed Yang. He claims that he was keeping two cubs temporarily and had a signed agreement with a local scenic area owner.

Authorities have now confiscated the other cub and are in the process of charging Yang. As tigers are a protected species, keeping them is illegal unless you have a special license.
