Three Visitors Flung from Ride at Xi’an Qinling Amusement Park

The Qinling Amusement Park in Xi’an has been temporarily shut after three visitors were hurled from a high-speed windmill-like ride on September 15.

One of the victims suffered from fractures to the head and toes has been placed in the ICU. Another victim, said to be a 14 year old boy, is being treated for severe injuries, while the third victim is said to be in stable condition after being treated for multiple fractures to the face and mouth.

A preliminary investigation ruled that mechanical failure led to the accident, despite passing a safety inspection just one month ago. However, some have alleged that park staff failed to check the harnesses of the park-goers before starting the ride.
