Thirsty? 64% of China’s Urban Groundwater is Heavily Polluted

Xinhua reports that monitoring data recently collected from 118 cities in Mainland China suggests that about 64% of the country’s urban groundwater is “heavily polluted”. Meanwhile, 33% of the groundwater samples collected were “mildly polluted”, with only 3% considered “sanitary”.
