Bone-inlaid Carvings (Gumu Xiangxian) 骨木镶嵌
This traditional Zhejiang Province craft originated nearly 1,200 years ago, and is counted among the “Four Treasures of Ningbo”. Bones are carved to resemble animals, scenery or folk heroes then set into a delicate wooden base. These sculptures come in all shapes and sizes and make fantastic gifts.

Wood carving is another of Ningbo’s “four treasures”, and has been counted among the traditional crafts of Zhejiang Province since time immemorial. Usually depicted are folk heroes, legendary and mythological animals, and love scenes from famous stories.
Gold and Silver Embroidery (Jinyin Xiu) 金银绣
Traditionally, real gold and silver thread was used in the embroidering process. These days, mostly dyed thread is used, putting this vivid textile within the budgets of us mere mortals.
