Daqing Hybrid Corn (Daqing Tezhong Yumi) 大庆特种玉米
After 10 years of research, Daqing agricultural experts successfully developed Hybrid Corn, which is waxy, sweet and eaten fresh or as popcorn. There are at least 20 hybrids in 7 categories.

The corn comes in a variety of colors – yellow, white, red and black. Among them, the yellow hybrid is considered the best.

Daqing Sunflower (Daqing Kuihua) 大庆葵花
Sunflower seeds are a good source of vitamin-E, vitamin-B1, manganese, magnesium and other minerals and vitamins. They help reduce symptoms in asthma, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. They also play an important role in reducing heart disease by reducing cholesterol. The planting area in the Daqing area has reached 133.3 square kilometers, most of which is located in Zhaoyuan County. The processed “Lukui” brand sunflower seeds and “Elongkang” brand salad oil were awarded the Certificate of National AA Green Food. These products are quite popular in Beijing and Tianjin.

Gongmi 贡米
Soft, elastic and tasty rice produced in Daqing and unique in the region. Gongmi is fortified with calcium and rich in proteins, iron and selenium which helps cell functioning. The rice moistens and beautifies skin and improves appetite. The most well known types of gongmi include Yaoxin gongmfrom Dumeng, Gulong gongmfrom Zhaoyuan and Daguan gongmfrom Datong. Gulong gongm, produced by Jitai Group, was awarded national green-food certification and is exported to Taiwan and other countries.

Carrot (Huluobo) 胡萝卜
Carrot products such as fresh juice, sauce and jelly drops are processed by Daqing Lujun Food Co., Ltd. Together with “Shenying” carrot juice (processed by Zhaoyuan Can Factory), annual carrot product production amounts to 15,000 tons. Many of these carrot products have won national green-food certification.

Daqing Whipping Full Cream Milk Powder (Daqingpai Quanzhi Naifen) 大庆牌全脂淡奶粉
Using advanced techniques, this milk powder preserves the original nutrition of fresh milk. It is made from 100% fresh cow’s milk and contains no additives. It is rich in protein, calcium, unsaturated fatty acid, vitamins and trace elements (microelements).

Mung Bean (Lvdou) 绿豆
A specialty of Daqing, local mung bean products are in high demand in Southeast Asia and Japan. Baiyinnuole Town in Dumeng County was designated as “The Hometown of Mung Bean” by the National Agricultural Bureau. These minute legumes are rich in taste, contain no cholesterol or fat, are high in fiber and protein and provide a good source of calcium and iron. Usually eaten as a whole or as a sprout, mung beans help detoxify the body and in summertime they are often added to soup to help relieve the body from heat. “Luzhenzhu” (Green pearl) mung beans and “Fufeida” mung bean powder are well known in Daqing.

Houtou Mushroom (Monkey Head Mushroom) (Houtou Mo) 猴头蘑
Houtou Mushroom is consumed for its nutritional value. With over 16 amino acids, as well as several vitamins and minerals, the mushroom is highly recommended for prevention of neurasthenia (chronic fatigue and depression), dyspepsia (acid reflux), gastric ulcers and tumors. A tasty addition to many dishes, many overlook its medicinal properties.

Qiu Mu’er (Edible Black Fungus) 秋木耳
Enriched with vitamins and amino acids, Qiu mu’er (a type of fungus) helps blood circulation. It prevents tumors and arteriosclerosis. Many of Daqing’s seniors, chemical workers, textile and mining industry workers use it daily.
