The St. Olaf Orchestra Perform in Xi’an June 3

The St. Olaf Orchestra from the United States is set to perform at the Xi’an Concert Hall on June 3. The orchestra was founded in 1906 by Norwegian violinist F. Melius Christiansen and is the official orchestra of St. Olaf College, a liberal arts university in Minnesota. Considered one of the top university orchestras in the country, the orchestra will perform a number of demanding compositions including "Overture to Candide" by Leonard Bernstein, "Medea's Dance of Vengeance" by Samuel Barber, "Symphony No. 5 in D Minor, Op. 47" by Dmitri Shostakovich.
