“The Bus has 4 Thieves”: Sichuan Driver Calls out Pickpockets on his Bus
Nov 30, 2015 By eChinacities.com

“There are thieves on the bus, keep your bags close! The two thieves are a man and a woman. A tall man and a short woman.” Tang, a bus driver in Deyang, Sichuan, yelled a warning to his passengers Tuesday morning when he suspected that a pair a thieves had boarded his bus.

After hearing the warning, the passengers all sprang to attention and held their bags tightly. A passenger said that they expected the passengers to get off at the next stop, but they did not as it would be too obvious. At the next stop, Tang announced, “Two more thieves just got on, the bus now has four thieves.”

“Everyone was very grateful that the driver alerted everyone. I was able to keep my property from the thieves. But I was worried about his safety. I was scared that the thieves would retaliate,” said a passenger.

The original post describing the actions of the bus driver went viral on the Chinese internet. More than 1,000 Netizens wrote comments praising the Tang’s actions.

Should Tang fear retaliation from the thieves? He said that he had nothing to worry about. “The thieves generally only care about money,” he said.

Tang has a lot experience as a driver and has learned how to judge thieves on his bus. He said that most thieves carry bags, never sit even where there is space, and purposefully stand in crowded areas of the bus.

During my earlier years in China, I witnessed a few public beatdowns by the masses when catching thieves: Mostly occurring on train rides; once on a bus. I too called attention to a thief reaching into a lady's - I openly questioned "Fo you know her, to have your hand in her purse". An older auntie sitting next to me suddenly got brave and publicly remarked how she would get made and break loose on someone caught trying to steal from her. I pointed out another guy at another time unnecessarily shoving and pushing me to board the train. When I sidestepped to countermove on him, I saw no one else pushing. In fact, oddly enough, there wasn't even a crowd rush. So, I alerted everyone around that that guy boarding must be a teveryone around who was boarding. I hope this caught on to the (local) people around

Actually this sort of shows how pathetic and sheepish the Chinese masses are. You need someone to tell you to be careful and watch your belongings? Shouldn't that be something you do normally ? Shouldn't you be paying attention to anyone acting suspiciously? Thieves are so easy to point out, they walk around staring at people's bags!

ya, unfortunately they havent learned "righteous fury" as it applies to society. A proper beat down by the masses will "cure" them of their thievery.
