Jan 29, 2014 By eChinacities.com

During the week of Chinese New Year, temperatures across China are expected to drop dramatically, with temperatures in the North East dropping as much as 14ºC. The first three days of Chinese New Year will see rain and snow around the Yangtze River region, which could affect travel. The eastern part of the South China Plain, the Yangtze River and the Sichuan Basin are likely to see intermittent fog, and haze.

Northeastern regions of Xinjiang Province will experience heavy snow fall and most of northern China will be dealing with strong winds, which will make it seem even colder.

The National Tourism Board is telling people to stay aware of weather changes as they are likely to affect travel plans and outdoor activities.
