Taxi Stops are Set Up in Xi'an to Help Better Accommodate Customers
Aug 09, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Taxi stops with a covered waiting shelter, a noticeable sign, and a newspaper/magazine stand has been popping up on streets in Xi'an recently.  There are newly set up 34 of such waiting stations for taxis all over Xi'an and 13 more new taxi stops with noticeable signs but no waiting shelters has also finished installation for use. The new taxi stations are quite pleasing to the eye, there is a map of Xi'an in the front and a newspaper stand in the back.  It is expected that new functions will also be included at the taxi stations; for example, customers will be able to hail taxis through an intercom system – and available cab drivers in the location will be notified to pick up their passengers accordingly.  In this way, it is expected that cab drivers can pick up passengers more efficiently and passengers can also cut down on waiting time for hailing available taxis.
