Taxi Drivers Who Refuse to Take Passenger Fined up to 5000 RMB

According to Ma Li, head of the Changchun City Road Transport Bureau, Changchun has begun implementing a new regulation called the "Jilin Provincial and Municipal Public Transport Management Regulation." Under the new provision, taxi drivers who refuse or deny passengers; who purposely make detours; who don’t charge according to the taxi metre and demand higher payment, will be subject to a fine of 1000-2000 RMB. In more serious cases of misconduct, taxi drivers may be fined 2000-5000 RMB and may even have their licences revoked.
