Taiyuan Transport - Coach

Taiyuan has four long distance passenger stations: East Passenger Station, West Passenger Station, Taiyuan Jiannan Station and Taiyuan Long-Distance Passenger Station. Buses from Taiyuan mainly go to destinations within Shanxi Province, the two most popular being Datong and Wutai Shan. Buses to Datong (80-100 RMB) leave the Taiyuan Long-distance Passenger Station at 08:00. Six buses a day leave Taiyuan for Wutai Shan between 6:15-14:30 with buses available every 30-60 minutes. Privately chartered buses and minibuses also run to these destinations, costing a little more.

Other popular destinations which can be reached by bus are: Overhanging Temple in Hunyuan County, the Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian County and Pingyao Ancient City.
