Shakespeare’s classic story of doomed love and family rivalry is coming to Guangzhou over the May Day holiday. The British theatre group TNT will be performing the tragedy at the Xinghai theatre on Saturday May 3.
The performance is part of a national tour of the play. TNT theatre is bringing the production back to basics by setting the play in Baroque Italy, and keeping the set and production minimal, allowing the power of the actors and the classic story to shine through. That doesn’t mean they won’t be adding their own unique flourishes however, with highly stylized sequences and an original live score.
