An upscale swimming club will be set up in the north section of the National Aquatics Center in Beijing. The aquatics center, which is known as the Water Cube, will be divided into four sections: – a swimming club, a swimming pool for international competitions, an office building and a water park, according to Olympic Park common area administration commission.
The Water Cube has 6,000 fixed seats and 11,000 removable seats. However, only 1,600 seats are needed for international swimming competitions. The commission will dismantle extra seats for an office building for staff while some space will also be leased.
The water park will have a man-made beach and other entertainment facilities. It will be the biggest water park in Beijing when it opens to the public.
