During the opening ceremony of the 2nd China Wetland Culture Festival on October 11th, Suzhou Taihu Lake National Wetland Park was officially approved by the State Forestry Administration to be one of China’s first 12 national wetland parks. Suzhou Taihu Lake National Wetland Park was opened to the public on February 21st, 2010, was subsequently designated as one of the trial wetland parks in March 2011 and passed the State Forestry Administration assessment process in September 2011.
