A suspect has been detained in connection with a bomb blast that took place in a fast food restaurant in Suihua, Heilongjiang province yesterday morning that injured two police officers.

34 year old suspect Zhu Shibin allegedly used gunpowder from firecrackers to make the homemade bomb. He then walked into a branch of Dicos in Suihua and put down a bag before leaving without purchasing anything.

Zhu then made an anonymous call to the restaurant’s delivery hotline and the local police saying that there would be an explosion at the restaurant within 5 minutes.

The police hurried to the scene to evacuate the restaurant and the explosion occurred during the evacuation, injuring three police officers, two of which are still in hospital being treated for serious burns.

No motive for the crime has yet been reported.
