Survey Reveals Shanghai Residents ‘Not that annoyed’ by Dancing Ayis
Jul 18, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A recent survey concluded that Shanghai residents are fairly supportive of Guangchangwu, or ‘square dancing’: the favourite passtime of Chinese ladies from middle age onwards, and the source of headaches for many urban residents who live near an open space.

Dancing ayis have caused huge amounts of controversy in recent months, drawing criticsm from netizens who were embarassed when a bunch of them were spotted dancing at the Louvre ,as well as being subject to some extreme attempts to deter them.

The opinion poll showed that Shanghai residents find drilling and construction sounds and mall loudspeakers far more annoying. Dance on, aunties.
