Typhoon Soudelor is expected to hit China on August 6. The typhoon has been upgraded to a “super typhoon.”

The Central Meteorological Station has reported that the current path of the typhoon is still uncertain, but that it is expected to hit the country's eastern seas on August 6, the northeastern coast of Taiwan on the 7th, and Zhejiang and Fujian on the night of the 8th. Shanghai is on the northern edge of the storm's path. Guangdong will be affected by the storm, and Hong Kong will most likely experience heavy rainfall.

The typhoon is the strongest tropical cyclone so far this year. The storm has already hit Saipan, a U.S. commonwealth. It is the fifth typhoon of the year.
