One of the oldest musical institutions in Russia, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra will be playing under the guidance of lead conductor Valery Gergiev in Beijing on December 7.
Gergiev has been in charge of the orchestra since 1988, succeeding a long line of prominent and well known conductors. Under his tutelage the ensemble has expanded their repertoire beyond compare to previous years. Once ranked in the top 20 orchestras in the world, the group continue to travel the globe to play for eager audiences.
The performance will be held at the National Theatre of Performing Arts.
