A documentary named "Story of Tibetan serfs" was shown on CCTV-4 at 22:00 on March 5th to mark the 50th anniversary of the region's Democratic Reform.

The documentary exposed the dark society of feudal serfdom under theocratic ruling, the miserable life of millions of Tibetan serfs, and the profound changes that have taken place in the past 50 years with history and personal stories experiencing the democratic reform.

It can be divided into two categories: one part is about historical events recording peaceful liberation in 1951, suppressing rebellion and democratic reform; the other is using personal stories to prove the democratic reform is a great human rights movement in the history.

A number of valuable first-hand information about Tibet collected by journalists during the six-month film producing process has be shown for the first time. Besides, the documentary translated into English, French, Spanish and other languages will be shown on CCTV English, French, and Spanish channels.
