Fourteen are dead, and four are missing in Zhejiang after the province was ravaged by Typhoon Soudelor Saturday night. Eight victims were killed in housing collapses due to flash floods and mudslides, and five were killed in landslides and flash floods.

Cities and counties in Zhejiang including Taishun, Wenzhou, Pingyang, Wencheng, Cangnan, Lishui, and Qingtian are still in serious condition and are still experiencing heavy rain, and flooding. Twelve of the victims were in Wenzhou, and two were in Lishui. Wencheng experienced the heaviest rain in 100 years.

A spokesperson from the Cangnan Water Conservancy Bureau said that the entire county is essentially, “an ocean,” because of immense flooding.

The rain is expected to let up today in Zhejiang as the storm passes. The typhoon will most likely be downgraded to a tropical storm as it moves inland away from coastal China.
