With the first phase (18 thousand square meters) of the Baiyun Leather and Fur Market to start operation in July, Changyaoling Village will further strengthen its status as China's largest trade center of leather and fur products.
Since 1978, production of leather and fur products has become a pillar industry in Changyaoling, the earliest and largest such processing base in south China. Currently, there are more than 7,000 employees (over 70% of the locals) working for over 300 professional processing plants, which bring in over RMB 800 million annually. This is also the world's largest production base for producing sable garments.
