Under the impact of the current economic situations, the global air industry is in a slump. All the big airlines have been practicing their "downsizing" plans. Singapore Airlines and other foreign airlines have decided to cut their originating flights to Guangzhou.

Following the announcement of a 3% cut on its flights, Singapore Airlines recently said that some of the return flights from Guangzhou to Singapore on Singapore Airlines would be reduced from six flights during the week (on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday) to five flights a week (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) beginning next month.

At the same time, all Nippon Airways Company decided to cancel its flights from Guangzhou to Nagoya starting March 29th as well as some flights from Guangzhou to Tokyo, i.e., from the original two flights a day to only one (Flights NH924 and NH923 grounded).
